MAY 25, 2004 OZZY HONORED AT MTV VMA JAPAN
Ozzy Osbourne was honored
with the "Legend Award" at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2004 on Sunday (May 23), according to The Daily Yomiuri. Introduced
as "the Prince of Darkness" by playful British retro rockers The Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne turned up on stage at Tokyo Bay NK
Hall with wife Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack.
"This is the
best award of them all because it's real — all the other ones are plastic," said a light-hearted Osbourne, appreciating
the renewed focus on his music rather than the TV show featuring his family. "It's really weird, people know me now from the
show, but they don't know I've been doing rock 'n' roll for 35 years."
APRIL 26, 2004 OZZY AND KELLY'S VERSION OF 'CHANGES' NOMINATED
FOR IVOR NOVELLO AWARD
Ozzy Osbourne and daughter Kelly's reworked version of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Changes"
is nominated in the best-selling U.K. single category at the U.K.'s prestigious Ivor Novello awards, which honor the best
British songwriters and composers.
The song, the original version of which appeared on BLACK SABBATH's 1972 album,
"Black Sabbath, Vol. 4", was included on the reissued edition of Kelly Osbourne's 2002 debut, "Shut Up" (re-titled "Changes").
The
Ivor Novello awards take their name from the Welsh actor, composer and playwright who was one of Britain's biggest stage and
screen stars in the early part of the last century. The winners will be announced May 27 at a ceremony in London.
OZZY APPEARANCES Ozzy and Sharon are going to have
a busy few weeks! To help celebrate the release of the much anticipated “The Osbournes Season 2.5 DVD,” Mr. and
Mrs. O will stop by the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday, April 28 and the Jimmy Kimmel Show on Monday, May
3. The DVD will be released on May 4, which also marks the date of the season finale of "The Osbournes".
